THE FALL                        (turn up your speakers & click on the song title)

It was a long time taken between the rise and the fall,

Although we saw it coming we could not have seen it all,

And the feeling never left us,

It's even stronger than before,

We're floating here adrift now,

And left wanting so much more.

We see the sun is rising and take notice of it all,

We know the time we're losing and cannot stop the fall.

We cling to things we know well,

The future is so far away,

How will we meet a new tomorrow,

We're so secure with yesterday,

And we look to the sunrise,

Unsure of what will come today,

But what ever our fate brings us,

We cannot run away.

We see the sun is rising and take notice of it all,

We know the time we're losing and cannot stop the fall.

It was a long time taken between the rise and the fall,

Although we saw it coming we could not have seen it all,

And the feeling never left us,

It's even stronger than before,

We're floating here adrift now,

And left wanting so much more.

We see the sun is rising and take notice of it all,

We know the time we're losing and cannot stop the fall.

We see the sun is rising and take notice of it all,

We know the time we're losing and cannot stop the fall.

Note: Although I did, in fact, write this song, I have no idea what it is about—the end of a

relationship?  The fall of America?  The fall of civilization? The end of time?

I was at work one morning and something hit me like a slap to the back of my head.

I grabbed the nearest piece of paper (the back of a pre-printed form) and began

scribbling the words that came into my mind before I lost the thought.

It made no sense to me, but I kept writing it down.

The above lyrics are almost verbatim what I wrote that morning.

After I got home that evening I wrote the melody.

Yes, I know it’s an odd story.  But then, what can I say?  Musicians are strange.
